Every year, I seem to enjoy finding one tree that I pass by every day to observe the way it awakens in the spring. 🌸
First, it looks so bare and quiet—no form of life is evident.
Then, small brown kernels begin to form on the tips of each branch. The curiosity of what is inside intrigues me and I don’t want to miss a single day in fear of missing that “spring pop”.
Before long, the shoots begin to disguise the branches and the tree comes to life with subtle buds that will explode over the coarse of a week.
My tree this year was this apple tree in our neighbor’s yard. During my morning walk yesterday, I had to stop and admire these blooms at their prime before they start flying away in the Oklahoma spring winds.
Do you pick a tree to follow in the spring?
